Two New Installations in Korea

For the Hansol Art Museum, designed by Tadao Ando, we are creating an interactive paper installation. In addition to modern and contemporary art works, the museum shows more than 3000 exhibits about the history and culture of paper making that have a long tradition in Korea.

The interactive installation has the form of a stack of paper being blown away and frozen in space. Visitors can take a sheet of real paper and play with dynamically generated ink drops projected onto the paper. When they take the paper over the "frozen" paper sheets, and transfer the ink, a famous Korean quote emerges onto the entire surface of the installation.

The second work is being developed for the Four Rivers Pavilion located at the Yeong San River. The computationally designed installation consists of amorphous formed mirrors whose reflections build different characters.

Both installations will be finished the beginning of 2012.
